About the Winery:
Since the 1970s, we’ve focused on just three things: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and hospitality. We believe that wine should not overpower the food at your table, but act as the bridge that connects all the little details of a memorable meal. The longevity of our wines, the diversity of our land and the creativity of our people ensure that Jordan is more than a bottle of wine.

Our winemaker’s guiding philosophy is to achieve a balance among all components of the wine–and to make no compromises in that pursuit. Dedication to quality and harmony between fruit, acidity, tannin, and alcohol ensures a wine of finesse and enduring elegance, as well as a thread of continuity in style from vintage to vintage.

Notes from the Winemaker:
The 2019 vintage hits all the right notes. The palate is inviting and well-balanced, exuding flavors of blueberries, cassis and blackberry, making this a vintage that will age for years to come. A fitting release to commemorate Maggie’s first vintage as head winemaker.

Blend: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec

Ageing: 100% French oak for 13 months (42% new and 58% one-year-old barrels)

Alcohol: 13.6% ABV

Tasting Notes:
Intense aromas of ripe black cherry, graphite and blackberry interlace with a lovely violet floral note. The palate is inviting and well-balanced, exuding flavors of blueberries, cassis and boysenberry that are all beautifully interwoven with silky tannins from the French oak barrels. The dark fruit flavors and delicate acidity evolve beautifully in the glass and linger on the palate.

Ratings & Reviews

96 Points, Publisher's Picks - The Tasting Panel:
"Since its founding in 1972, Jordan Vineyard & Winery has produced just one red wine in every single vintage: Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to meticulous craftsmanship, the 2019 embodies the standard set for this world-class red. Its sleek mouth-feel is dotted with white-peppered black raspberry, balsamic, and Italian herbs as well as illustrious, glossy tannins."

94 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"Wonderful aromatic intensity with notes of cassis, cacao and anise that jump out of the glass upon the first sniff. Some rosemary and thyme also show up at the end. With a silky, juice-like texture, black and red fruits explode on the palate upon first sip and softened by Earl Grey tea on the finish." (Aug 2023)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Excellent concentration and a classic flavor profile of black cherries, black olives and toasted oak give good reasons to buy and enjoy this Sonoma County icon. Firmly structured with fine-grained tannins and equally generous in black fruits, the wine is well-balanced and trim in body. Best from 2026–2036." - Jim Gordon (Apr 2024)
