About the Domaine:
The philosophy of Maison J. Lassalle is based on several key points:
  • Maison J. Lassalle owns all of its vineyard. The latter is based on one and the same terroir located at most 10 km from our farm.
  • Each step of the winemaking process is based on a carefully respected ancestral technique.
  • Each cuvée produced is aged for a minimum of 5 years in order to reach the level of quality requirement that Maison J. Lassalle has set for itself.
  • Beautiful midsummer night's dream, passionate evocation of a mythic effervescent wine. Sensations, emotions, surprise, rare moments.
Tasting Notes:
J. Lassalle works with 11 hectares of vineyards in Champagne, all of them of Premier Cru status. This non-vintage brut is grown in Chigny-les-Rose and composed of 60% Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. With three years sur lies, this is fresh, fruity, creamy, and toasty. Dosage of 9g/L balances the acidity and gives the wine some richness

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Wine Spectator:
"There's an open-knit, almost airy feel to this vibrant Champagne, which carries a concentrated range of juicy pear and black raspberry fruit, with hints of crystallized honey. Shows gingersnap biscuit and verbena flavors on the chalky texture, gaining momentum on the racy, zesty finish. Drink now through 2022. 2,945 cases imported." - AN (10/15/2015)

91 Points "Outstanding" - Allen Meadows' BurgHound:
"An attractively yeasty nose combines notes of apple, pear, acacia blossom and a hint of apricot. There is fine complexity to the utterly delicious flavors that possess reasonably good concentration, indeed sufficiently so that there is a sappy, even creamy texture to the mid-palate that carries over to the lingering finish. This will not wow you with its refinement as the mousse is not especially fine yet it's rare to find this kind of depth anywhere close to this price point. Thus, as a candidate for an everyday sipper, this is highly recommended." (Jan 15)

90 Points - Vinous Media:
"(a blend of one-third each Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay; 8 g/l dosage): Light gold. Ripe pear, honey and tangerine on the fragrant nose and in the mouth. Fleshy, broad and rather powerful, with a touch of bitter quinine adding a dry edge. Closes smooth and subtly spicy, with good cling and a lingering note of sweet butter." - Josh Raynolds (1/2015)
