About the Winery:
The Ink Grade Estate Vineyard claims a view unbeknownst to most in the Napa Valley, lying in the northeast corner of the Howell Mountain AVA. Terraced throughout due to the extreme slopes, this mountainside vineyard clings to volcanic “tufa” soils. Ink Grade Estate possesses a raw tension that renders fruit of immense intensity and depth. If ever there was a site that imparted a feeling of reverence, Ink Grade is such a place.

TASTING NOTES
Andosol draws inspiration from the historic field blends of California. Zinfandel is the protagonist. This is a blend meant to be enjoyed in its youth. To provide a unique perspective of the Ink Grade Estate. Undoubtedly, this site and the inherent stress it lends to grape growing will saturate the grapes with intensity and depth. This is not a feeble or simple wine. It will age incredibly well. Rather, it is our intent to provide a lens through which one can begin to understand the concept of site and how it is transparent in these wines regardless of varietal or winemaking. This is a house favorite. There is something about mountain Zinfandel that captivates and satiates. It is with pleasure we provide you with a different perspective of Ink Grade.

Ratings & Reviews:
92 Points - James Suckling:"Aromas of blueberries, plums, dried oregano, earth, tar and peppercorns. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and lively acidity. Vibrant and juicy with a crunchy finish. Drink now or hold." (November 2021)
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A blend that can change from vintage to vintage, the 2017 Andosol is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. While the nose is marked by scents of redcurrants and gentle herbal shadings, the palate is full-bodied but taut and juicy, with silky but firm tannins and ample length." - Joe Czerwinski (May 2022)
