About the Winery:
The winery is named after a 19th century historic windmill located on the property near the cantina. However, the viticultural history of the property is much older–the vineyards at Il Molino di Grace have been fruitful for over 350 years. When Frank Grace first purchased the property in 1995, there was no winery: all the grapes were sold to local producers. Using the site of a ruined barn, Grace, together with winery manager Gerhard Hirmer, designed and built a state of the art winery. The winery opened its doors in 1999 and today, all of our wines are estate produced and bottled using organic materials and sustainable practices in both the vineyard and cantina.

Ratings & Reviews:

91 Points - James Suckling:
This ripe and fruit-forward with red berries, cocoa, walnuts and orange peel. Some spices, too. Medium- to full-bodied, textured and velvety with crunchy tannins and a juicy finish. Fresh, crisp and tingly at the end. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.

90 Points - Decanter:
In the southern sector of Panzano, bordering the Radda UGA, Il Molino di Grace boasts 20 hectares of vineyards surrounding the estate. The underlying soil is Pietraforte, a hard calcareous sandstone that prevails in Panzano and is associated with powerfully structured wines. Here the density starts on the nose with intense dark fruit and forest brush. Ripe black cherry and plum fill the mouth. The tannins are firm yet graceful, and it finishes with a sprinkle of cinnamon. (Drink between 2023-2027)
