About the Winery:
Hestan Vineyards was born from the culinary passion of Stanley Cheng and his wife, Helen. This husband and wife team has combined innovation and passion to create award winning wines. Stanley pioneered hard-anodized cookware in the 1970s and has continued to improve the ways we cook through innovations and he keeps that innovation going through his wines.

The Hestan and Meyer labels are the product of renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, with the philosophy that quality wine begins in the vineyard.

About the Vineyard:
Named for Meyer Corporation, the largest manufacturer of cookware in the United States. Stanley proudly sits as the company’s CEO. Meyer Vineyard Cabernet is produced from a vineyard block within the Hestan Vineyards Estate just below Helen and Stanley's home. Those estate grapes and the skills of Thomas Rivers Brown brought the 2014 Meyer Cab to be named the #8 wine in the world on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list of 2017. Meyer Cab continues to shine as our vintages progress.

Notes from the Winemaker:
The lots for Meyer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon are kept separate throughout winemaking to retain individual block and varietal characters. Small capacity fermentation tanks, carefully timed pump-overs and punch-downs, a mix of native and cultured yeasts, the finest French cooperage and extended aging result in a wine noted for its deep flavor and velvety tannins.

Winemaker: Thomas Rivers Brown
Appellation: Napa Valley
Aged 23 months in 85% new French oak
3.96 pH
5.7 g/L TA
14.6% alcohol

Tasting Notes:
In the glass the wine displays a nearly opaque purple-ruby hue. On the nose, there are aromas of black currant, blackberry cassis anise, sweet and sour plum with a hint of black and red licorice. The palate opens with ripe plum, graham and brown sugar with blackberries and white pepper notes. The wine is balanced with soft tannins and a med long finish.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - James Suckling:
"This wine offers a basket of fresh berries, together with vanilla, chocolate and crushed stones. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and ripe, juicy fruit on the palate. Soft and mellow with a delicious, fruity finish. Drink or hold." (Nov 2021)

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Potently ripe and saturated in flavor, this full-bodied and nicely grippy wine offers black cherries, dark chocolate and mint on an almost syrupy-rich texture. Firm tannins support the richness for a plush expression overall. Best from 2026." – Jim Gordon (Jul 2023)

92 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Ripe and dense, with a loamy edge to the mix of warmed cassis and blackberry preserve flavors, while singed alder and tobacco accents fill in the background and keep the finish grounded. Best from 2023 through 2034. 4,300 cases made. – JM (May 2022)
