Notes from the Winemaker:
Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc has been part of the Groth family of wines since our winery was founded in 1982. Over the past four decades, we’ve sourced this variety from some of the best sites in Napa Valley, including our own Oakville Estate, and honed our skills in the vineyard and cellar to produce Sauvignon Blanc that is balanced, refreshing and aromatic — just the way we love it.
This wine is produced from grapes grown on our Oakville Estate, as well as from select grower vineyards representing a range of microclimates in Napa Valley. The warmer areas give us Sauvignon Blanc with melon and citrus characteristics in both aroma and flavor. The cooler areas provide fruit with a solid, crisp backbone that gives the wine an exciting liveliness and balances the rich creaminess from sur lie aging. The Semillon is grown on our Oakville Estate, and it contributes roundness and weight to the mouthfeel.
Tasting Notes:
Sunny lemon-yellow in color with bright aromas of honeydew melon, green apple, pear nectar and beeswax. Crisp and refreshing citrus and melon flavors lead to a long and juicy finish that leaves you craving another sip.

Ratings & Reviews
93 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"A beautifully lush and silky Sauvignon Blanc from Groth’s Oakville Estate, this blend of 83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Sémillon offers creamy orchard fruit and subtle tropical nuances, all wrapped in a balanced, fruit-driven finish. Hints of spring flowers, vanilla, and coriander cream add elegance. At the same time, a thread of stony minerality provides depth and freshness—a polished and expressive take on Oakville white Bordeaux-style blends." - Jonathan Cristaldi (Jan 2025)
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"With aromas and flavors of citrus pith, dried grasses and salted lime, this wine offers palate-filling flavor with a pleasing balance of texture and mouthwatering length. Deftly integrated oak brings additional complexity in good balance." - ECB (Jul 2024)
91 Points - Wine Advocate:
"Groth's 2023 Estate Sauvignon Blanc offers up scents of pink grapefruit, ripe figs and Anjou pear. Made in second-fill acacia wood, neutral French oak barrels and concrete eggs, with six months of sur lie aging, it's just medium-bodied but nicely plump and rounded on the mid-palate, turning crisp and refreshing on the lemon-and-grapefruit finish." - Joe Czerwinski (Feb 2025)
91 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Shows wonderful restraint, with mandarin orange, lemon curd, salted melon, Honeycrisp apple and pear notes on a firm texture, plus a hint of beeswax and plenty of length. The acidity keeps the flavors bright." - MW (Feb 2025)
91 Points - The Wine Independent:
"The 2023 Estate Sauvignon Blanc is composed of 83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Semillon. It opens with notes of struck flint, lemon peel, and wet slate, giving way to hints of coriander seed and white pepper. The medium-bodied palate is lively with citrus and mineral layers, finishing refreshing and steely." - LPB (Feb 2025)
90 Points - James Suckling:
"Notes of sliced golden apples, candied lemons, citrus blossom and stone. Medium-bodied, sleek and polished with vivid acidity. Pretty and refreshing. Drink now." (March 2024)
