About the Producer:
Glenglassaugh Distillery is situated on the north coast of Scotland, perched upon high ground overlooking the North Sea. 

Founded in 1875, it was shuttered in 1907 for 53 years. It then reopened only for brief periods before closing in 1986, this time seemingly for good. But in 2008 Glenglassaugh was purchased by an investor group that restarted production, and it subsequently was acquired by Jack Daniel’s owner Brown-Forman in 2016.

About the whisky:

Glenglassaugh 12 Years Old is a harmonious balance of our signature coastal style; lush, tropical and coastal . Matured in bourbon, sherry and red wine casks for luscious waves of ripe fruit carried on an ocean breeze.

Tasting Notes:

COLOUR: Luminous gold

NOSE: Sweet coastal waves of ripe apricot and fig meld with toasted vanilla and tropical flora, carried on a warm ocean breeze.

TASTE: Candied pistachio, date and sweet fig roll into waves of morello cherry and whipped cream, infused with fresh coastal air.

ABV: 45%

"An age-stated bottling from the maker of last year’s Whisky of the Year, this malt is an elegant jewel of the Highlands. The nose is lush and fruity, perfumed with honey and raisins, crisp with lemon and grapefruit, and braced by a hint of salinity. The palate is richer, with ginger and honey, fruit tart, and dying embers from an oceanside fire. The elegance carries through on the finish with a long sweet and salty fade."
