Notes from the winemaker:

Geoffroy is one of the few Houses that still makes its Champagne Rosé by the saignée method during the maceration of the Pinot Noir grapes. tasting notes. Ruby red tints to please the eye. The nose provides a whole bouquet of aromas. Roses, wild strawberries and raspberries combine in perfect harmony. The mouth, utterly charming, confirms the promise of the nose. The finale has sumptuous vinosity. accompaniment.

This Champagne Rosé is wonderful with seafood dishes like fried scallops or a lobster fricassee. For the dessert, a peach soup accompanied by a few strawberries and a glass of this Champagne Rosé de Saignée will leave you with an unforgettable experience.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"The NV Brut Premier Cru Rose de Saignee is 100% Pinot Noir, all from the 2009 harvest. Kirsch, sweet red cherries, crushed flowers, mint and spices all waft from the glass. This is a pretty delicate, ethereal style of Rose considering the year and the saignee style, but the wine’s balance is quite attractive. I imagine the Rose de Saignee will offer its finest drinking sooner rather than later. Disgorgement date: June 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. " - Antonio Galloni (Nov 2011)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"A hint of malt adds a rich layer to the flavors of ripe fruit—black cherry, berries, grilled plum, whole-grain toast and smoke—all set on a refined texture. An elegant, flavorful rosé, with lovely, fine-tuned acidity. Disgorged April 2011. Drink now through 2018. 302 cases imported." –AN (Dec 31, 2011)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:

"Bright pink. Ripe red berries and cherry compote on the nose, complicated by nuances of floral oils and gingerbread. Fleshy and broad in the mouth, with good depth to its sappy red fruit flavors. On the rich side but this Champagne doesn't lack for energy. Closes on an emphatically fruity note, the raspberry quality echoing." - Josh Raynolds (Dec '11)
