About the Winery:
The story of the Garesio family starts in the vineyards of Salento, where Negroamaro grapes were pressed by bare feet, and reaches the Mondonio hills in Lower Monferrato in the Asti region. Since 2010, the family has acquired approximately 64 hectares of land, 21 of which are under vines, divided among Serralunga d’Alba, the heart of Barolo, Perletto in Alta Langa, Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato.

About this Wine:
The Garesio Serralunga d’Alba Barolo is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in Cerretta and Gianetto crus, within the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, adjacent to the Garesio cellar. Serralunga d’Alba soils are some of the oldest, dating back to the Lequio formation (Helvetian), and are rich in sandstone and limestone, giving intense brick-colored wines with strong structure and thick, enveloping tannins. However, the different expositions and elevations of these vineyards, combined with the prevalance of sandy soils, result in softer and more balanced Barolos. This wine is made with certified organic grapes.

Tasting Notes:
Brilliant garnet red color. The nose is very fresh and elegant with aromas of strawberry, cherry, red berries, rose, violet, and licorice. On the palate it is full-bodied, rich, balanced, with delicate, elegant tannins.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Fresh and focused, offering cherry, raspberry, wild herbs, iron and licorice. Muscular and balanced, echoing the fruit and savory elements on the finish. Best from 2026 through 2043. 916 cases made." - Bruce Sanderson (Feb 2024)
