Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - James Suckling:
"This has lovely dark plums, fresh herbs and violets. On the palate it’s tightly knit and elegant with a firm row of tannins, running through layers of pretty berries. Drink from 2020." - (10 Apr, 2019)
90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2017 Chianti Classico Rubiolo (100% Sangiovese) shows a delicately spicy side to the bouquet with cherry and blackberry that is nicely ripened but not overripe. This is an extremely balanced and precise wine. I can't image that these results were easy to achieve given the harsh, hot and dry conditions of the growing season. The finish is soft and velvety. Pair this with a rabbit dish. With 47,000 bottles made, you get fantastic value here." - Monica Larner (19th Sep 2019)
Vinous:
"The 2017 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is plump, juicy and absolutely delicious. All of the richness and radiance of the year comes through in a supple, forward Chianti Classico that will drink well right out of the gate. Sweet red berries, flowers and a touch of spice add to the wine's racy personality. The Rubiolo is a blend of fruit from estate vineyards in both Castellina and Panzano. It was fermented in steel and aged in a combination of cask, neutral small barrels and cement. Best of all, the 2017 is a superb value. " Antonio Galloni - (Aug 2019)
