About the Whisky:

Fukano Blonde—an all-new, limited expression from the famed distillery—is bottled to showcase the beauty of Fukano’s spirits with minimal oak influence. The whisky’s past life as Kuma shochu and the imparted terroir of the Kumamoto prefecture weave in and out from the nose through to the finish, which takes on an energizing and refreshing quality.

• Limited-release whisky produced with koji by Fukano Distillery in Hitoyoshi City, Japan
• Distilled from 100% rice (malted, unmalted, and koji)
• 21-day parallel fermentation with koji rice
• Single distilled in a stainless steel pot still
• Non-age statement; aged in white oak
  
• Inaugural release of just 1,040 bottles
• Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 42.5% ABV (ABV may vary batch to batch)

Tasting Notes:

• Fruity, floral aromas reminiscent of refreshing Kuma shochu with a touch of oak tannin and caramelized pineapple; light-bodied and mineralic on the palate with underripe yellow nectarine, cinnamon, and wet leather on a bright, salinic finish

"A tangle of lemon, lime, and star fruit scents, developing stronger notes of Bartlett pear, supported by aromas of dragonfruit, allspice, nutmeg, and star anise. Fresh and clean on the palate, with icing sugar, lemon mousse, kiwi, lime, honeydew, and pear, then light vanilla, pineapple, and candied orange ahead of a mouth-coating finish with a bite of lemon peel. A charming expression highlighting Fukano’s shochu traits."
