About the Winery:
Among the first to see the potential for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay along the fog-shrouded Pacific Ocean, we have refined our understanding of our estate properties with each passing vintage. Sometimes referred to as the “far” Sonoma Coast, our rugged, windswept vineyards represent extreme viticulture in the pursuit of crafting wines representative of time and place.

Working in agricultural isolation on the edge of the coast, just north of the town of Jenner, is done with a very specific goal in mind…to present a pure expression of one of the world’s truly exceptional places to make wine. Our organic practices emphasize our approach as stewards of the land, resulting in healthier vines and higher quality soils. Our commitment to stewardship along with our organic and biodynamic farming practices have been unwavering constants of our winemaking philosophy since our inception.

About the Wine:
Our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is sourced from our organically farmed estate vineyard, Camp Meeting Ridge, as well as several family-owned vineyards that share our farming philosophy and commitment to highlighting the purity of these coastal sites. This wine reflects the unique characteristics of our estates: coastal influence, topography, and distinctive soils.

Delicate aromas of white flower and coastal minerality frame a beautiful nose on this Chardonnay. Hints of kaffir lime leaf, fresh herbs, and elements of citrus amplify the bright savory character. The first sip offers a flourish of fresh fruit, which knits into artful integration with focused acidity and lovely chalky textures. As the wine opens in the glass, faint notes of almond skin balance gentle citrus and pear, lingering on a mineral-rich finish.

Ratings & Reviews:

94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:

I love the Chardonnay from this estate, and their appellation 2019 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is well worth seeking out, revealing a lighter gold hue as well as a crisp, nicely defined bouquet of poached pear, citrus, spice, and hazelnuts. Beautiful on the palate as well, it's medium-bodied and has nicely integrated acidity, notable balance, and a great finish.

95 Points - James Suckling:
A lovely nose of lemon curd, baked green apple and a bit of pine. Medium-bodied with a delightful, smooth texture. Very elegant and refined. Well balanced and linear with a savory finish. Charming. Drink now or hold.

92 Points - Wine Spectator:
Rich and finely textured, with concentrated white fruit flavors that show buttery hints. The spicy finish lingers with minerally snap and creamy accents.
