Notes from the Winemaker:.
The Riserva comes from “Le Macchiarelleâ€, the oldest vineyard of our Estate. The structure, character and the complexity of this unique Riserva are the result of a combination of soil, exposure and the age of the vineyard.
Vinification:
Selection of the harvested grapes with three sorting tables. Destemming and crusching with fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks.The must is pumped over the cap repeatedly at a controlled temperature. The malolactic fermentation takes places in the steel tanks before the ageing in the oak barrels.
Ageing:
Part in French oak tonneaux and part in medium capacity casks for a minimum of 24 months. Before release the wine is bottle-aged for a minimum of 6 months.
Grape varieties: 100% Sangiovese

"Good full red. Fresh, refined aromas of herbal raspberry, pomegranate, crushed stone and white pepper. Fresh, rich and deep, offering wonderful sweetness to the bright red fruit flavors. Boasts substantial dusty but noble tannins and terrific verve thanks to strong but harmonious acid cut that helps the perfumed floral and cherry notes linger nicely on the powerful, long finish.
