95 Points - Decanter:
"The Lola Pinot Noir is a wine from Gap’s View, a 28-year-old vineyard tucked into the windy Petaluma Gap. Those fierce breezes here toughen up the grape skins and give the wine some real backbone, while the alluvial soils keep things lively with a streak of minerality. The 2023 is one of Failla’s more serious Pinots this vintage, leaning into a darker, moodier vibe: juicy plums, black cherries, and ripe blackberries layered with a perfume of crushed violets, clove spice, and a wet-stone earthiness. At 13.8% alcohol and with plenty of bright acidity, it manages to stay fresh and lifted even with all that depth." (ACQ)
94 Points - James Suckling:
"Lovely perfumed nose of roses, tangerine blossoms and sea breeze. Really elegant, with fresh acidity and delicate tannins. Flavors of crushed raspberries and orange zest. Light- to medium-bodied. Drink or hold."
94 Points - Vinous:
"The 2023 Pinot Noir Lola is packed with dark cherry/plum fruit, spice, new leather, licorice, menthol, espresso, tobacco and mocha. Plush contours give the 2023 tons of immediacy and appeal. This is one of the more overt wines in the range. All of the fruit is from Gap's View in Petaluma.: (AG)
