From the Winery:
"Founded by Russ Rainey in 1986, Evesham Wood is based on the idea that small is beautiful. To maintain a high level of quality, we rely on two basic principles: obtaining optimally ripe low-yield fruit from the best possible sites in the Willamette Valley, and using minimal intervention in the winemaking process. That approach is alive and well today, and is evident in every bottle we produce." Winemaker and owner, Erin Nuccio

Beyond any doubt or uncertainty, 2021 is the best vintage of La Grive Bleue that Evesham Wood has bottled.

All the characteristics that have made La Grive Bleue not just one of our favorite Evesham Wood wines but one of our most cherished wines, period, are all here: the soaring aromas, cherries mingling with rosemary blossoms, an expansive and elegant palate of fantastic flavors. But the texture is otherworldly, like no previous vintage, so beautifully creamy-silky. This heavenly feel marries with Evesham's vibrant soul and we're left knowing that La Grive Bleue has graduated to a a higher perch.

The always-microscopic production (only 220 cases) is in even greater demand with the mounting enthusiasm around vintage 2022 and the absence of a 2020 predecessor. Made from estate grown, certified organic, 25 year-old vines.

Ratings and Reviews

94 Points - Vinous:
The 2022 Pinot Noir La Grive Bleue is distinctly savory. It opens with an herbal thrust of rosemary and sage before evolving into wild blueberries, wilted violets and flowery underbrush. This is youthfully lean and compact, washing across the palate with silken textures and a refined blend of red berries and spice. It tapers off with tense tannins, a firm acid spine and hints of tangerine, leaving the taster completely enamored. Readers should wait another year or two to indulge in this bottle. Drink 2026-2032.

93 Points - James Suckling:
Plenty of succulent small berry, white pepper and crushed stone character on the nose, following through to a medium body with crisp acidity. Frank and precise, with an intense core of herbs and spices lifting up the mid-palate to the flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
