The 2022 Evening Land Seven Springs Pinot Noir is largely of Seven Springs' original, own-rooted vines planted in 1982. Raised for 16 months in neutral French oak and finished in concrete, the wine shows off a lush texture and high toned aromatic intensity. This is yet another impressive effort from this benchmark producer.

Sashi and Raj, by ushering in Seven Springs Vineyard’s fourth decade, remain at the forefront of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production in the New World. Everything for them has always started in the vineyard and when they had the chance to become stewards of this historic site, they couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity. The estate is as critically acclaimed as their California projects (Piedrasassi, Sandhi, and Domaine de la Cote) but with a soul all to its own, owed to the unique geology and natural splendor of the Willamette Valley.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - Wine Spectator:
Showing verve and expression, this opens with a burst of raspberry and guava flavors laced with crushed stone, dusky spices and forest floor as this builds complexity toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2035. 1,900 cases made.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
A really ripe and sweet blackcap raspberry aroma is counterpointed by tangy bits of lemon verbena, mint and a fresh wood scent that reminds me of the rubber band-powered balsa glider plane toys we'd fly as kids. The fruit on the lighter-bodied wine's palate is a mix of mulberries and elderberries that meld with flavors of dark chocolate ganache and orange zest. There's plenty of acidity and velvety tannins here to offer support for all of that fruit. — Michael Alberty

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"Matured in used French oak, the 2023 Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard is scented of dried red cherries and cranberries plus wafts of orange, earth and dried flowers. The medium-bodied palate has a silky texture and is bursting with berry and citrus flavors. It’s balanced by mouthwatering acidity and has a long, bright finish. 1,900 cases produced."

91 Points - Vinous:
The 2023 Pinot Noir Seven Springs wafts up like a basket of freshly picked wild berries mixed with minty herbs and autumnal spice. It feels round, delivering a silken wave of ripe red and blue fruits that swirl beneath an air of chalk dust and lavender. The finish is medium length with gentle chewiness yet remains incredibly fresh. (Drink between 2025-2028)
