This bottling illustrates the potential for depth of the former while being just as viscerally pleasing as the former. Rainier cherry, strawberry Bon Bon and red flowers are the liftoff for juiciness that builds itself around a line of tangy spice and acidity. A considerable finish dashed with stony minerality is somewhat unexpected and plenty welcome, just like this wine’s place at any holiday table. It may not last long there.

Sashi and Raj, by ushering in Seven Springs Vineyard’s fourth decade, remain at the forefront of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production in the New World. Everything for them has always started in the vineyard and when they had the chance to become stewards of this historic site, they couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity. The estate is as critically acclaimed as their California projects (Piedrasassi, Sandhi, and Domaine de la Cote) but with a soul all to its own, owed to the unique geology and natural splendor of the Willamette Valley.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Vinous Media:
"What a treat: deep magenta, the darkly alluring 2022 Gamay Noir Seven is spicy with crushed raspberries, menthol, white pepper and sage. Dense silky textures wash across the palate, quickly building in tension as brisk acidity and citrus-tinged wild berries slowly saturate. It takes on a steely mineral component through the finish, along with rosy inner florals, tapering off classically dry. (Drink between 2024-2028)." - Eric Guido (Jan 2024)

90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Delicate and floral, with pretty raspberry and cherry flavors that take on rose petal and orange peel accents. Drink now through 2030." - Tim Fish (June 2024)
