About the Producer:

We are a family business located in Lignieres-Sonneville, in the centre of Grande Champagne in France. Our family, Maison Dudognon, has been producing Cognac since 1776. Over the generations, we have nourished and worked the soil, respecting the delicate balance of the soil to produce quality grapes.

We have been feeding and tilling the land for several generations while respecting the fragile balance of the soil. We are winegrowers and take care of the vines.

The main grape variety of our estate is Ugni Blanc and in recent years, we have replanted Folle Blanche and Montils, grape varieties abandoned after the phylloxera crisis but well present in the Charente about sixty years ago.

The harvest is carried out mechanically and in several stages. Folles Blanches, early varieties, are harvested first and vinified separately. Then comes the turn of the Montils and the Ugni Blanc. We thus obtain white wines with a wide aromatic range for distillation.

About the Cognac:

Dudognon Héritage Cognac is a round and spicy Cognac. It offers notes of peach, exotic fruits and pear.
Distilled over a wood fire and aged in new Limousin oak barrels without sugar, wood or caramel.

Héritage is a digestive. It will be perfect with a pear dessert, dark chocolate or a cigar.

Grape variety: 100% Ugni-blanc

Tasting Notes:

Eye: Intense amber colour
Nose: Nose on fruit cream, peach and exotic fruits, pear
Palate: Beautiful roundness on the palate with spicy notes. Toasted and vanilla

Awards/Reviews:

93 points Vinous

"A fascinating 40-year-old spirit – Speyside by way of the tropics. Expressive aromas and flavors of both fleshy exotic fruit and salty sea air reminiscent of Scotch, plus a healthy dose of rancio. On the palate, it’s expansive and amiable, but followed by a long, serious, very dry finish full of astringent grilled walnut." (41% abv) (JW) (9/2019)
