About the Winery:
At the foot of the majestic Schlossberg hill surrounded by vines and roses, lies Domaine Weinbach. Named after the little stream which runs through the property, and planted with vines since the 9th century, it was established as a winery in 1612 by Capuchin friars. After being sold as national property during the French Revolution, it was acquired by the Faller brothers in 1898 who then left it to their son and nephew, Théo. Théo Faller was a prominent figure in Alsace winegrowing and an ardent defender of quality wine production. After his death in 1979, his wife Colette, his daughters Catherine and Laurence, and their team continued the family’s passion for the great wines of Alsace and its unrelenting commitment to excellence. Since 2016, Catherine has led the estate winery with her sons, Eddy and Théo. Employing both organic and biodynamic practices, Domaine Weinbach produces an exquisite range of wines: estate varietal wines including Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Sylvaner and Pinot Blanc, single vineyard wines that express the diversity of the terroir, and luscious yet balanced vendanges tardives and selections de grains nobles wines.

About this Wine:
Plots in the winery's monopole Clos des Capucins vineyard composed of sand silt soil on granite pebbles. The grapes growing on this terroir ripen a lot earlier, producing wines with complex aromatics and a powerful concentration..

Tasting Notes:
Delightful at the nose with aromas of white blossoms and notes of lime. Shows a fine, delicate entry and a nice concentration mid-palate. Offers a beautiful combination of crisp granny smith apples and a delicate minerality. Juicy with a long lingering finish.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:
"Aromas of honeycomb, generous stones and citrus. Then comes the extremely elegant, precise, medium-bodied palate, where the fruit, stony minerality and touch of creaminess are exactly balanced. Long, very pure finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold." (May 2025)

91 Points - Wine Spectator:
"There’s pleasing, zesty weight to this white’s flavors of creamed pear, apricot and blanched almond, all threaded with herbs and dried flowers. Mouthcoating, with smoky flint streaming through the fullish finish, which is clean and focused, showing a hint of paraffin. Drink now through 2033. 1,520 cases made, 250 cases imported." - Kristen Bieler (Jul 2026)
