About the Domaine:
Brothers Bertrand and Denis Chevillon are the fifth generation managers of this property in Nuits-Saint-Georges, which means they work the vines and make the wines. Their father Robert, for whom the domaine is named, is still active as well. Both brothers bring passion, experience, a tireless work ethic, and intensity to their work at the domaine. Tasting through their palate of Nuits- Saint-Georges is a venerable tour of the appellation. Their Bourgogne is grown and vinified with the same care as their premier crus.  It shows.

About the Wine:

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Average Vine Age: 50 years
Soil Type: Clay, Limestone

Ratings & Reviews

90-92 Points - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy:
Dense rich purple, exciting, with a heady nose showing a touch of reduction. Really rich deep black cherry fruit, this is a power monkey but I still like it. There is a wonderful juicy energy that will give a great deal of pleasure, especially to those looking for a richer style of pinot.

89-91 Points - BurgHound:
Dense aromas of black cherry, plum, earth and whiffs of wood and the sauvage give way to sleek, delicious and detailed flavors that are finer but not denser, all wrapped in an equally attractively textured finish that is more structured. This too is very good for its level plus it should reward up to a decade of cellaring.

89-91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Aromas of wild berries, smoked meats, orange rind and rich soil tones introduce the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, layered wine built around powdery tannins and lively acids." – William Kelley (Jan 2021)
