About the Wine:
Renowned winemaker Pierre Ramonet established Domaine Ramonet in the 1930s in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy. Over the past 70 years, the iconic winery has expanded to include 15 hectares of prized Chardonnay and has been passed down to Pierre's two grandsons, Noel and Jean-Claude, who run the winery today. The exceptional quality and small production of Domaine Ramonet makes these wines sought after by wine connoisseurs the world over.
Pierre Ramonet had a peasant background and became a legend by creating one of the finest domaines in Burgundy through sheer hard work and a genius for wine. The wines of Ramonet are in a class of their own, Jean-Claude and Noël are the third generation producers of the domaine known for producing wines of overall consistency and excellence. The Chardonnays of Ramonet are among the most age-worthy of the Côte de Beaune and their Montrachet is unheralded. The wines of Ramonet show concentrated, complex fruit character with mineral expression from limestone soils, and a creamy, elegant texture. Selected from several vineyards across Chassagne totalling 4.6 acres.
Alcohol: 13.5

Ratings & Reviews
93 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"The red Morgeot is produced from a parcel in Ez Crottes, downslope from Boudriotte. The thin soils here with their high clay content provide a wine of surprising depth and substance, with ripe black cherry fruit, hints of spice, and mineral followed by lovely fruit ripeness on the palate and supple but firm tannins that lead to a lingering finish." - Charles Curtis, MW (Jan 2020)
92 Points - Wine Advocate:
“An over-performer in the range is the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot (Rouge), a lovely wine that bursts with aromas of cherries, cassis, orange oil, peonies and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with powdery tannins and lively acids, it's well worth seeking out.” – William Kelley (Jan 2022)
