About the Domaine:
Moreau Naudet has been a family business since the 17th century. In 1929, Alfred Naudet, a member of the I.N.A.O., was at the origin of the Chablisien delimitations. In 1950, Marie Naudet married René Moreau, who then became Moreau Naudet. In 1968, Roger Moreau arrived on the estate and took it over in 1972. In 1991, Stéphane Moreau joined the estate, which has 7 hectares of vines and produces 5,000 bottles per year. Stéphane died in 2016 and his wife Virginie took over the estate with the help of the assistant winemaker.

Full organic farming with biodynamic principles, natural yeast ferments, woman-winemaker, harvested 100% by hand–an anomaly in the mainly conventionally-farmed area. Unmistakably Chablis.

About this Wine:
Les Pargues is a one hectare lieu dit which has the same exposition as Vaillons and Montmains, so despite being just a village site, it has the character of a premier cru. The vines are approximately 70 years old further adding to the intensity and potential of the site. Les Pargues is aged more in line with the premier crus in Moreau Naudet's cellar, which is to say a significant percentage of the final blend was aged in old barrels.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"This exceptional village Chablis has a deceptively pale yellow colour with hints of green, yet boasts pronounced aromas of ripe Mirabelle plum, exotic passion fruit and delicate white flowers. The texture is creamy and the palate has a lovely depth of flavour. The grapes are from three parcels of 70-year-old vines totalling 1.8ha in the left-bank lieu-dit of Les Pargues; they are crushed as whole clusters and fermented in tank and old casks (25%) before bottling." – Charles Curtis MW (Sep 2024)
