Notes from the Winemaker:
Méo-Camuzet is one of the most celebrated domaines of the Côte d’Or, located in the heart of prestigious Vosne-Romanée. The domaine boasts fourteen hectares of land in some of the most spectacular appellations and crus of Burgundy. The vineyard land in Burgundy is highly parceled out among families, which makes it rare for anyone to have enough vines to be able to bottle one grand cru, let alone the six that the Méos have.

Meo-Camuzet Frere et Soeurs is the négociant entity of the family domaine, and works closely with local growers to source the best fruit available in some of Burgundy’s finest terroirs. Vines are tended with the same best practices that the family espouses. The Méos oversee vineyard management, and they care for the wines in the cellars with the same attention to detail and respect of terroir that they do those of the domaine.

Tasting Notes

Noble and refined, far from the caricature of a rustic Nuits-St-Georges, this wine expresses all the finesse and complexity of a great terroir of the Cote de Nuits. It is easily approached when young, with a kind of natural elegance that seduces, with a beautiful finish, all in lace.

Ratings & Reviews

90-92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Hailing from another parcel that Mo farms, the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Perrires (Mo-Camuzet Frre & Soeurs) exhibits notes of cassis, dark berries and loamy soil, framed by a deft touch of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, tensile and precise, with chalky tannins and a mineral finish." - William Kelley (Jan 2020)

90-92 Points - Allen Meadows' BurgHound:
"An attractively fresh and pretty nose mixes notes of red cherry and plum with those of violet, earth and a whiff of anise. There is again good volume and richness to the notably more mineral-driven flavors that culminate in lingering, very firm and well-balanced finale. This needs to add depth but the underlying material appears to be sufficient for this to occur." (1/2020)

89-91 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières 1er Cru is a good rather than spectacular wine, Jean-Nicolas Méo himself candidly opining that he did not think it was quite as good as the previous two vintages. Nevertheless, it has fine lift on the elegant nose of raspberry, red currant and light rose petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, good cohesion and a rich, generous, sorbet-like finish. It will require 3–4 years in bottle." - Neal Martin (1/2020)
