About the Winery:
Domaine Leflaive has been entirely a family domaine since its creation. Brice de La Morandière, great grandson of the founder, Joseph Leflaive, represents the fourth generation at the head of the domaine. In 2015, after an international career in industry, he succeeded Anne-Claude, pioneer in biodynamics. It is with the same philosophy of respect for the great terroirs, humility toward the forces of nature, and relentless pursuit of excellence in viticulture and in winemaking that the domaine will continue to grow in the future.
Notes from the Winemaker:
At the beginning of 2003, SCE Domaine Leflaive acquired five parcels (Les Chênes, En Perret, Le Monté, Escolles and Les Muses) of mature Chardonnay vines in the commune of Verzé in the Mâconnais (the Mâcon-Verzé appellation). From the very first year, the vines were cultivated biodynamically. Cultivation of the vineyards is carried out by Paul de Noüe (a member of the Leflaive family) within SCE Joseph LEFLAIVE, which is a subsidiary of Domaine Leflaive.
Vinification
- Fermentation: In stainless-steel tanks using indigenous yeast
- Malolactic: 100%
- Aging: 16 months in stainless steel followed by fining and very light filtering if necessary
Tasting Notes:
The Mâcon-Verzé is a wine of great purity, both floral and mineral, expressing a lively energy, ready to be enjoyed earlier than the wines of Puligny-Montrachet.

Ratings & Reviews
89 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2022 Macon-Verzé is raised in stainles steel, concrete and foudres, around 10% wood for micro-oxygenation. It is bottled early in the year after the harvest. The nose offers a clean, precise, malic bouquet with orchard fruit emerging with time. The palate is taut, fresh and lightly spiced, with fine weight and ample depth on the finish. Enjoy this Mâcon-Verzé over the next 3 to 5 years." – Neal Martin (Aug 2024)
