About the Domaine:
Guillaume and Aude Lavollée represent the fourth generation of vignerons at Génot-Boulanger. Their wines are produced exclusively from estate-owned vineyards, located along all three Burgundy côtes, from Chambolle Musigny, down to the domaine in Meursault, and on to Mercurey. With 22 hectares, Génot-Boulanger is one of only a few family-owned Burgundian domaines to produce such a diverse range. (They produce wine from over 30 appellations!)

Since 2008, Guillaume and Aude have worked painstakingly to improve the quality of their wines, converting to organic farming practices and experimenting with biodynamics. The domaine’s philosophy is “maximum work in the vineyards for minimum intervention in the cuverie.” This has translated to wines that are first and foremost true to their terroir.

About this Wine:
The plot “Les Cras” is located at the bottom of the hill and facing due east. Its origin comes from the word Cras - "stony hillside", often used to designate a vineyard that is located below.

Ratings & Reviews

90-92 Points - Vinous Media:
“The 2022 Pommard Les Cras has a much more complex bouquet than the Vieilles Vignes, and you might erroneously think there were some whole bunches here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, quintessentially Pommard in style with a little juiciness on the finish. Recommended.” – Neal Martin (Jan 2024)

90-92 Points  - Jasper Morris' Inside Burgundy:
"Glowing purple. Clay on the top, chalky limestone beneath. The oak shows a little on top of the fruit but does not dry it. Excellent energy, this is the more forceful of the two Pommards, but both have their merits. The lower slope location reinforces the power. Drink from 2029-2034" (Oct 2023)
