Ratings & Reviews
94 Points & Editor's Choice - Wine Enthusiast:
"An abundance of black plum and cherry, geranium and clove meld gracefully, creating a refreshing yet serious nose. Ample acidity accentuates its salinity and provides lift, revealing notes of plum and clove against an elegant violet backdrop. Delicious beauty comes through with every sip." - Anna-Christina Cabrales (Nov 2024)
93 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A polished, supple red, rich and laced with black cherry, black currant, violet and spice flavors. Well-balanced enough to enjoy now, yet this will continue to improve over time. Ends with a combination of fruit and spices. Best from 2025 through 2042. 51 cases imported." – Bruce Sanderson (May 2023)
91 Points - Allen Meadows' BurgHound:
"Notably ripe and quite spicy aromas are comprised by notes of liqueur-like plum, cassis and similar dollops of menthol and oak toast. There is good volume and mid-palate sap as the medium-weight flavors possess a velvety and relatively refined texture where a touch of minerality adds a sense of lift to the sneaky long and youthfully austere finish." (Oct 2022)
89-91 Points – Vinous Media:
"The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Perdrix 1er Cru, which intriguingly has "Quasi Monopole" on the label as a lady with a few rows denies the Domaine the full monopole, is planted at 13,000 vines per hectare. It has a well-defined nose with a mixture of red and black fruit, hints of espresso and dry tobacco surfacing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with red berry fruit, touches of meat juice and orange rind. There is fine depth here and gentle grip on the finish, though it just needs a touch more precision. Worth seeking out though, especially if you are in the mood for a quasi monopole and you did not buy Clos des Lambrays!" – Neal Martin (Dec 2021)
