About the Winery:
Located in the heart of the Sancerre region, Domaine Delaporte is a family business that has been passed from father to son since the 17th century. The Domaine is found in the beautiful village of Chavignol, which is renowned for the goat cheese Crottin de Chavignol. Since 2010, Vincent Delaporte’s grandson, Matthieu Delaporte, has been focused on further improving the Domaine’s wine. Precision, balance, and complexity are the maxims of the Domaine Delaporte cuvées, with each delivering a strong sense of individual terroir, marked by considerable minerality, power, and freshness.
About this Wine:
Pale gold with green hints. Very expressive, intense and complex nose with boxwood, rhubarb, blackcurrant, kiwi fragrances and a light vegetal touch (marigold). The entry is soft and round. Bright freshness on the palate, delicate and lively purity. Well balanced and harmonious, it ends with a clean lingering finish.
Ratings & Reviews
90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"There's a smoky, earthy edge to this well-packed white, with persimmon and citrus flavors dredged in salt and fresh herbs. Fluid and streaming with white tea notes, with a briny kick to the round yet well-defined and snappy finish. Drink now through 2029. 16,500 cases made, 6,950 cases imported." - Kristen Bieler (Mar 2025)
Vinous Media:
"The 2023 Chavignol is a pure, tranquil style. It is light-bodied with tender texture. This is restrained and delicate, with lemon, honey and chamomile flavors. The 2023 is gently refreshing and not too acidic." - Rebecca Gibb MW (Aug 2025)
