About the winery:
The Lançon family descend directly from the 12th Century Barberini family of Rome.

The best known of the family, Maffeo Barberini, was a papal nuncio, or diplomatic representative, in Paris from 1604 to 1606, and was made Pope in Rome under the name Pope Urban VIII.

Two of his nephews became cardinals and a part of the family then settled down in Avignon. In the 1980s, brothers Michel and Jean Lançon took the future of Domaine de la Solitude in their hands, focusing attention on the vineyards.

Over the past several years, Michel’s son Florent Lançon has taken over the day-to-day operations of Domaine de la Solitude, continuing to make improvements while preserving the traditions of his father and uncle.

About this wine:

Terroirs & grape varieties:
The vineyard is cultivated with the greatest respect for nature and people. The grapes come from terroirs made of sands and clay-limestone gravels located at high altitude, between 300 and 400 meters above sea level.

Winemaking and aging
• The grapes are harvested at night.
• They are directly pressed after harvest.
• After settling, the must is fermented with natural yeasts in concrete tank at 18° C.
• The wine is then aged on fine lees for 4 months.
Tasting notes
• A pretty pale rose-petal color dress.
• A complex nose of wild strawberries and exotic fruits.
• A mouthful mingling with vivacity and roundness with aromatic notes of pink grapefruit and a good
length.

Grenache 40% - Cinsault 40% - Syrah 20%

Ratings & Reviews

90 Points - James Suckling:
"A fresh and fruity rosé with notes of melon, grapefruit, white peaches and some dried herbs. Round. Medium-bodied. It is fresh with some saline character at the center, and a salivating, supple finish. 80% grenache and 20% syrah. Drink now." - (Apr 2023)
