Ratings & Reviews

96 Points - James Suckling:
"Subtlety and grace are the hallmarks of this layered, supple wine from Dan Kosta. Opens with mulled cherries and cinnamon, then fresh plums, dark cherries and light baking spices make a seamless palate. Full-bodied but subdued, integrated and fascinating in flavors, with a long finish. Drink or hold." -J.G.

94 Points - Decanter:
"Rosella's Vineyard is situated in the northernmost stretches of the Santa Lucia Highlands and is planted to the Pisoni Clone of Pinot Noir. It's a late ripening and cold site, and the clone develops very thick skins, resulting in a more muscular tannin profile. Aged 15 months in 50% new French oak. Bright and expressive, and significantly lifted with dried floral aromatics mocha and sagebrush. Those tannins, powerful as they are, have a plump and satiny quality here from excellent management by winemaker Shane Finley. Pomegranate, black raspberry, and spiced plums abound, layered with juicy blood orange acidity. A chocolaty richness builds with crushed cocoa nib notes on the finish. Drinking Window: 2024-2038." -Jonathan Cristaldi (Feb 2024)

92 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A ripe, flattering style, with a creamy feel to its mulberry and boysenberry compote flavors, laced liberally with singed anise and apple wood notes. Fine acidity keeps this honest enough through the sanguine-tinged finish. Drink now through 2028. 187 cases made." -James Molesworth (Mar 2024)
