About The Winery:
Delamotte, founded in 1760, is one of the oldest houses in Champagne. The two neighbors Salon and Delamotte became part of Bernard Hinault's Laurent-Perrier group in 1986 and were joined under the same winemaking team in 1988, thus making Delamotte the "little sister" of cult Champagne Salon.
According to Forbes Magazine,"The unofficial second label of the super-prestige marquee, Salon, in that Delamotte has first rights to any grapes from Salon’s prized 50 year old vineyards in the premier Chardonnay village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger that its neighbor doesn’t need for its own Champagne."
"Tasty NV Brut with notes of salted butter on toast, pie crust, lemon curd, mango and honeycomb. Medium-bodied with soft bubbles and a ripe, creamy finish. Drink now." (Jun 2022)
91 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A minerally Champagne, with a streak of smoke, chalk and oyster shell notes supporting flavors of Asian pear, star fruit and candied lemon peel as they ride the creamy mousse. Racy, focused finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Drink now. 35,400 cases made, 6,250 cases imported." - AN (Nov 2022)
90 Points - Wine Advocate:
"The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut is especially charming, bursting with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, peach and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it's a fleshy, giving wine that's ample and pliant, with a pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined finish." - William Kelley (Aug 2022)
90 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The NV Champagne Brut is 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and the rest Meunier, with the base vintage being from 2017. It pours a pale straw, with fresh and inviting aromas of fruit punch, wet stone, and bread dough. The palate is full of life and drinking well now, with rounded golden orchard fruit, lime zest, and a hint of graham biscuit. A solid entry wine from the range, this would be a fantastic aperitif or wine by the glass. Drink 2022-2032." (11/7/2022)
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"An attractively dry Champagne that highlights its mineral texture as much as its ripe white fruits, this is tense, with a fine bite of acidity. The bottling is young and the wine needs to soften for the full experience. Drink from 2023." - RV (12/2022)
