About the Winery:
Delamotte, founded in 1760, is one of the oldest houses in Champagne. The two neighbors Salon and Delamotte became part of Bernard Hinault's Laurent-Perrier group in 1986 and were joined under the same winemaking team in 1988, thus making Delamotte the "little sister" of cult Champagne Salon. According to Forbes Magazine,"The unofficial second label of the super-prestige marquee, Salon, in that Delamotte has first rights to any grapes from Salon’s prized 50 year old vineyards in the premier Chardonnay village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger that its neighbor doesn’t need for its own Champagne."
94 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"Persistent mousse with aromas of sloes, quince and red apples. Forward and approachable, with savoury undertones contrasting stone fruit and citrus flavours." - Simon Field, MW (Dec 2019)
93 Points - Allen Meadow's Burghound:
"A wonderfully fresh, yeasty and quite citrus-inflected nose speaks of green apple and just a hint of petrol. The pure, intense and utterly delicious flavors carry plenty of aged yeast character that are supported by a firm but distinctly fine effervescence that also shapes the very dry but not austere finish. This is very blanc de blancs in style and offers excellent depth plus it's extremely stylish. For the record this is not a power Champagne but rather one of finesse and refinement. I very much like this plus it could be drunk now or aged for 5+ years if desired." (Oct 11, 2017)
93 Points - Wine & Spirits:
"Rich in the middle while completely dry, this has the scent of chalk talc and the same austerity in its lively, crisp acidity. The fine effervescence gives it flash, while the sober, young chardonnay flavors carry the greenness of fresh English peas. If you open it now, you could pick up on that youthfulness next to a creamy spring pea soup with prosciutto."
93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs, the house's emblematic bottling, is once again showing very well, bursting with aromas of citrus zest, freshly baked bread, nougat, crisp stone fruit and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, ample and pillowy, with a fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it's a seamless, elegant wine that concludes with a flavorful finish." - William Kelley (Aug 2022)
92 Points - James Suckling:
"Baked-apple, light cream and vanilla aromas with some citrus, too. Full-bodied with candied-citrus and ginger character. Croissant undertones on the finish. Biscuit-like note, too. Drink or hold." (Jun 2022)
92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Moving into the NV Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut, this release is from the 2016 base vintage with 7 grams per liter of dosage. The nose is very pretty and pure and starts to show the character emblematic of the house style. The aromas have classic charm, with ripe green pear, brioche, white flowers, and crushed stone, while the palate offers more tension and mineral drive, with bright green apple, melon, and citrus pith. With its wonderful concentration and a refreshing nature, this textbook Blanc de Blancs offers a lot of pleasure. Drink 2022-2032." (11/7/2022)

Tasting Notes
100% Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs, rich, with a surprising delicacy, round yet mineral. Beyond its golden robe, floral fragrances (especially of rose), angelica, citrus, with a hint of ginger and, in the mouth, hints of biscuit and breadcrust on the finish.Ratings & Reviews
