About the Wine:
Clos Tamisot, a 1.5-hectare monopole planted in 1922 and 1945, is referred to as Pierre’s jardin, as it is located right behind the Damoy family residence (it is also Pierre's favorite). The vines were planted in 1922 and 1945, and the well-draining clay and limestone soil fosters intricate complexity in these very old vines’ small yields. A top site of Gevrey Villages.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Cherry, currant, spice, toasty oak and earth flavors are the highlights of this intense, muscular red. Balanced, with a vibrant structure. Just needs time to absorb the oak. Best from 2019 through 2033. 40 cases imported." –BS (Sep 2017)

92 Points - Decanter:
"Blackberry and cured meat characters with a rounded texture and a savoury finish."

Allen Meadows' Burghound:
" A very fresh and densely fruited nose offers up high-toned notes of red currant, earth and sauvage hints. Consistent with the nose there is fine concentration to the intense, delicious and sappy medium-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the overtly rustic and ever-so-mildly warm finish. This is a classic Gevrey that isn't elegant but possesses excellent complexity for its level. Worth a look." (Jan 2017)
