About This Wine:

Crucero Varietals have a spectacular appeal in color and flavor. They are round, very intense, and juicy.

Tasting Notes

Syrah, the legendary grape of the Northern Rhone AOC’s of Cote Rotie, Hermitage, and Cornas delivers ample flavor for a reasonable price. Intense dark cherry red color. Well-perfumed in the nose, this wine evokes very ripe red fruit, acidic cherries, white pepper toast and hazelnut tones. On the mouth, it is firm, warm and concentrated. The palate is pleasant, fruity and ripe, with a significant presence of toast, bitter chocolate, and coffee. This medium bodied red wine will age well for 3-5 years. Serve with red meat, game, and stews.

Ratings & Reviews

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Bright purple color. Cherry preserves, cassis and licorice on the nose. Sweet cherry and dark berry flavors are complicated by licorice, black pepper and a hint of camphor. Juicy and appealingly fresh but slightly tart, finishing with lingering blackberry and pepper qualities." - Josh Raynolds (Mar/Apr 10)
