About The Winery:

Quality and authenticity of wines, continuous research of the most innovative technologies, focus on environmental sustainability and production processes are our DNA.

We have made our banner of the utmost respect for viticulture and agriculture: Call me when it rains - that is, when you can't work in the vineyard - means rediscovering the need to give the right space to the time of nature and that of man, to work as in human relationships.

This does not mean chasing bucolic ideals detached from reality.

On the contrary, the company's vision is to research and integrate skills, innovation and love for the land to promote innovative organic agriculture that, through excellent and safe products, contributes to spreading a sustainable lifestyle.

We are located in the Teramo Hills, one of the best production areas of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, and home to the only regional DOCG. A few kilometers from the sea, still surrounded by the climate and the Mediterranean maquis but close to the extreme offshoots of the Gran Sasso d'Abruzzo, are the 14 hectares of vineyards.

Call me when it rains - Valori is a modern winery in step with the times, rooted in one of the best winemaking areas in Abruzzo, the Teramo Hills, where it extends over 14 hectares between the municipalities of Sant'Omero and Controguerra.

Founded by Luigi Valori in Sant'Omero in 1996, today it produces about 125,000 bottles a year for a total of 5 labels, including fresh wines and reserves, in which the native Abruzzo varieties predominate, with one significant exception.

Quality and authenticity of products, continuous research of the most innovative techniques, focus on environmental sustainability and production processes are our DNA.

We have made our banner of the utmost respect for viticulture and agriculture: Call me when it rains - that is, when you can't work in the vineyard - means rediscovering the need to live and cultivate according to nature, but not chasing bucolic ideals divorced from reality.

Our vision is based on the commitment to research and integrate skills, innovation and love for the land to promote innovative organic agriculture that knows how to combine the best of tradition and cutting-edge technologies, to guarantee its customers healthy and safe products and to the environment the least polluting methods.

We believe in quality agriculture which, even before being organic, is sustainable for the environment, for the community and for the market and which bases its daily work on scientific research to obtain better efficiency, yields and environmental protection. contributing through excellent products to the spread of a sustainable lifestyle.

"Working in the vineyard was the most extraordinary experience of human growth of my life, because it taught me to know my limits, even before making wines."  ~Luigi Valori

Luigi Valori is a man with multiple interests and strong passions, two above all cultivated in the time of a life with creativity and devotion: the earth and football.

Professional footballer in the Ascoli d'oro of the 70s, he knows the glories of Serie A and, despite the long retreats and the rigorous diet imposed by sport, he cultivates a passion for food and wine and discovers the world of wine as a young man. quality. He makes numerous trips to France, which allow him to learn about the French culture of drinking and approach what will become one of his favorite grape varieties, Merlot.

His retirement from the football fields in 1983 offers him the opportunity and the energy to devote himself full time to the study of wine and the vineyard. Strengthened by his youth studies in agronomy, he threw himself body and soul into a new adventure: in 1996 he bought the first vineyard and began his personal experiments with viticulture and winemaking.

99 Points - Raffaele Vecchione, WinesCritic.com:
(Translated from Italian) "Intriguing and well designed it offers notes of broom, helichrysum, withered elderberry, marjoram and green tea. Medium body, harmonious and balanced structure and a pleasant and juicy finish. Drink now."
