Notes from the Winemaker:
The Frémiers (0,79 ha) are located south of Pommard, right below the Rugiens, at the start of the slope. The red and brown soil, which is rich with both clay and limestone, is deeper (0.6-0.8m) than that of the Rugiens. The wines produced are very elegant and sophisticated. The aromas that can be identified lean towards fine spices and cooked fruits such as prunes. The tannins are very refined.
To be served at 15°C.

Ratings & Reviews

90-93 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"This is also quite ripe with liqueur-like aromas of black cherry, violet, spice and plenty of floral influences. The sleeker if not bigger medium-bodied flavors are dense to the point of being borderline thick, even syrupy yet somehow manage to remain vibrant and intense on the lingering finish that also flashes a touch of warmth as well as a hint of bitter pit fruit. This firmly structured effort should age effortlessly for years to come." - (Apr 2018)

90-92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"Medium-deep red-ruby. Dark berry aromas are complicated by nuances of flowers and earth; more complex in a Volnay way than the Croix Noires and Pommard villages. Suave, plush and sweet in the mouth, conveying an impression of tension and a hint of saline minerality. More refined than the preceding samples, finishing with smooth tannins that coat the front teeth. This, too, has the density and aromatic interest of a Côte de Nuits wine." - Stephen Tanzer (Jan 2018)
