For over 130 years, Casa San Matías, a distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, has been perfecting the art and craft of tequila. Carmen Villarreal leads her family distillery with passion, grit and determination. For decades she has worked closely with the expert craftswomen and men of Casa San Matías employing time-honored distilling traditions and state-of-the-art expertise to produce superb Corazón tequilas.

Matured for 26 months in ex-Weller 12 Kentucky Straight Bourbon barrels, where some of the finest bourbon at Buffalo Trace Distillery rested for 12 years, this añejo is moderately sweet with heavily cooked agave, toasted vanilla and a silky-yet-intense oak finish.

Tasting Notes:

COLOR: Transparent, Gold Flashes

AROMA: Aromas of oak, caramel, almond and chocolate greet you and then meld into notes of eucalyptus, walnuts and maple.

FLAVOR: The mid-palate flavor is moderately sweet with heavily cooked agave along with toasted vanilla. The silky finish is long, oaky, and intense.
