About the Winery:

Corazón Del Sol was established in 2008 and has been at the forefront of innovation in Argentina, pioneering some of the very first Grenache, and Mourvèdre plantings, and helping to pave the way for the Los Chacayes region. We believe that our wines start in the vineyard, and our minimalistic winemaking approach ensures our single vineyard bottleings and blends capture a true sense of time and place.

Winemaker Notes:

Malbec is the common thread between our vineyard sites. The Gran Reserva arises from the selection of the best barrels of Malbec from each vineyard site. With this blend of top barrels from each vintage, we create a very complex wine with great depth that maintains the elegance we strive for in all our wines.
New and second-use barrels of two sizes, 225 and 160 liters, tame the tannins that come from the concentration of the clusters in the vineyard - the result of leaving a single cluster per shoot. Aging 18 to 24 months in barrel gives the last touch of finesse to this super premium Malbec.

Ratings & Reviews:

96 Points - International Wine Review:
"The 2019 Gran Reserva Malbec from Corazon Del Sol is produced from the best barrels of Malbec from each vineyard site and is one of the most profound wines I’ve had from this estate. It’s aged for about 2 years in French oak barrels (new and second-use) and showcases a dark purple and ruby core with a neon pink rim in the glass. Complex notes of macerated boysenberries, black cherries, iron ore, crushed pink peppercorn, wet earth, and bay leaf, it changes over time as you leave it in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, it finishes with a lovely blue plum and dried thyme finish. Highly recommended." - J. Young (Mar 2023)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"A fresh and luscious malbec here with plenty of vibrant red plums, cherries, wild herbs, garrigues and a peppery undertone. Very energetic on the palate with silky, juicy tannins and vibrant expressions of red and blue fruit. Pretty length here. Delicious now, why hold." (Mar 2023)
