Notes from the Winemaker:
2021 marks another near-perfect vintage for Napa Valley. Early bud break led to a calm and steady growing season, which allowed for even ripening and generous hang time on vine. Lower yields due to drought brought about a true "winemaker's vintage," allowing for more time and attention to each lot. The resulting wines are aromatically rich, full bodied, concentrated in flavor, and perfectly age worthy.

Tasting Notes:
"Notes of dusted blackberries, plum and cherry lead to a back-drift of toast and fleeting tobacco. Supple creamy tannins widen the dark fruit mid-palate, lending to a lifted and layered finish. This wine widens and rises in amplitude and velocity with elegance and balance, showcasing the incredible beauty of the 2021 vintage." - Winemaker Peter Heitz

94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:

"The appellation 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a killer value that should be snatched up by readers. Ripe black fruits, roasted herbs, chocolate, and some spicy wood define the bouquet and it s full-bodied, has fine tannins, a glossy, layered texture, and outstanding length. It certainly has a modern edge, but is impeccably made. Enjoy bottles over the coming decade. Drink 2023 - 2033." (12/2023)

93 Points - Int'l Wine Review:

"The 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet from Turnbull is fantastic. It opens to perfumed aromatics of dark cherries and plums which are woven together with fresh cut flowers, toasted spices, tobacco and hints of dusted cocoa nuances all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is continues to impress with its gorgeous velvety texture and beautifully polished, nicely integrated tannins, which lead up to the long finish. This certainly has the potential to evolve for a decade or longer, however it is already quite appealing in its youth."

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Turnbull has been turning out some terrific wines in recent years, and the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is not only excellent, but it also represents a great value. Hints of cedar and vanilla accent cassis and black cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is plush up front, then turns firmer on the lingering finish. Drink 2024-2040." (12/29/23)

92 Points - James Suckling:

"An attractive nose of blackcurrants, dark cherries, plums and a dash of prunes as well. Full body with creamy tannins and texture. Round and fruity with plenty of blackberry and chocolate in the finish." (9/2023)

91 Points - The Wine Independent:

"The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is deep garnet-purple in color. Cedar, cassis, stewed plums, earth, and truffles galore emerge from the glass, plus a touch of fragrant soil. Full-bodied, rich, and seductive in the mouth, it has a long, satisfying finish." -LPB (11/2023)

91 Points - Vinous:

"The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is supple, open-knit and very easy to like. Succulent dark cherry, plum, leather, spice and mocha flesh out nicely in this attractive, easygoing appellation-level Cabernet. It is one of the riper, racier wines in the range and also sees a bit more new oak than the other Cabernets. In this vintage, the percentage of fruit from Amoenus is pretty high." -AG (12/2023)
