Notes from Winemaker:

Over the history of Cobb Wines, Ross has had the privilege of working with an array of high-quality vineyards throughout the region. Having amassed a quiver of different sites on the western edges of the coast, Ross has put together a wine that showcases both his style of wine making, and the cool-climate nature of the Sonoma Coast. This wine is an absolute pleasure, showing giving fruit up front with lots of red notes on the palate and classic structure and acidity that has become a hallmark for Cobb Wines. Though it will age for years like all of Ross’s wines, this bottling can be thoroughly enjoyed the year it is released.

92 Points - Robert Parker's WA:

The 2022 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast comes from four vineyards: Abigail’s, Emmaline Ann, Rice-Spivak and Mes Filles. Fermented with 50% whole clusters, it opens with expressive blackberry fruit accented by touches of conifer, forest floor and crème brûlée. The medium-bodied palate offers plush waves of sweet berry fruit. It’s structured by powdery tannins and refreshing acidity and has a long, detailed finish. It drinks beautifully straight from the bottle. 595 cases were made.

2021 reviews are below:

94 Points - Decanter:

A blend of several of Ross' single vineyards and a clonal mix of Calera, Swann, Martini and Pommard. It's planted at 100-300m—ethereal aromas of violets, saline minerality and mint. The palate offers willowy, lithe, gorgeous red berries and richer candied blue fruits. The unmistakable elegance of earthen minerals, sea air salinity and pine bough carry this to its finish as if blown on the breezes of the Pacific.

94 Points - The Wine Independent:

The 2021 Cobb Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has a pale ruby-purple color. After a swirl or two, it springs from the glass with gorgeous notions of fresh red cherries, wild strawberries, and lilacs, followed by hints of forest floor, garrigue, and damp soil. The medium-bodied palate is bright, crunchy, and intense, with bags of youthful, yet vibrant, red berry flavors and fine-grained tannins, finishing long and lifted. It was fermented with 40% whole clusters and aged in 30% new French oak for 17 months.

93 Points - Vinous:

The 2021 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a new wine, and what a wine it is! The purity of the fruit is just striking. Ross Cobb blended five sites and several clones to craft this exquisite, vibrant Pinot Noir. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, orange peel and spice all race across the palate. The 2021 is flat-out gorgeous. That's all there is to it.
