About the winery:
Since 2014 La Croix de Pez has been run by the grandchildren of Philippe Guyonnaud, who used to take his wine to the local cooperative. This 7-hectare property, which is located on the famous Pez Plateau and borders the even more famous Montrose and Cos d'Estournel, is now bottled on site 'au chateau'.

A blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc, it is 13.5% alcohol and will drink well until 2032.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - James Suckling:
"Dark cherries, mulberries, undergrowth, cedar and spice box on the nose. Some toast. Full-bodied with sinewy tannins. Intense and spicy with a creamy texture and a chewy finish. Drink after 2024." (Jan 2022)

Vinous Media:
“The 2019 La Croix de Pez has a well-defined nose of brambly red berry fruit, cola and light undergrowth scents, just a touch of marmalade seeping through. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, supple tannins, fine acidity and notes of clove and bay leaf mixed with white pepper on the finish. Give this 2–4 years in bottle." - Neal Martin (Feb 2022)
