Jean-René Chartron founded the Maison Chartron et Trébuchet in 1984 with Louis Trébuchet, manager of a wine trading company. Chartron himself comes from a family that has owned Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet since 1859. Vincent Sauvestre, a fourth generation winegrower of some 240 prestigious hectares of vines, acquired the company in 2004.
This wine comes from the prestigious Premier Cru Montmains, from 20 year old vines. It is aged on fine lees for 10 months in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Subtle lemony and floral notes open out to more mineral nuances. The attack is frank and precise, with a remarkable finish. Aromas of chalk, jasmine and lemon confit embellish the mouth.
Pairings:
Perfect with hot oysters or fish in sauce, but also with white meats in sauce (veal, poultry). Sushi pairs perfectly with its minerality. Goat cheese, Blue cheese and Comté.
