Notes from the Winemaker:

Single-vineyard from the Serralunga cru, renowned for its structure. Ideally incarnates the breeding and magnitude of its category: full-bodied, complex, utterly classic. In top vintages, can be cellared as long as 15-25 years.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points- James Suckling:
"A wine with clay tile, berry and milk chocolate aromas and flavors. Full body, velvety and rich tannins. Savory finish. Better in 2017. (April 2015)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni:
Dark cherries, kirsch, menthol, wild flowers and clove are all laced together in the 2011 Barolo Rapèt. Here the richness of the vintage is a bit more evident in the wine's liqueur-like sweetness yet all the elements are nicely balanced just the same. Here, too, readers can look forward to a 2011 Barolo that drinks well early. The Rapèt spent a year in barrel followed by two years in cask. -- Antonio Galloni (March 2015)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni (2010 vintage):
"Ca’ Rome’s 2010 Barolo Rapèt is floral, delicate and quite accessible for the year. Sweet red berries, tobacco, anise and savory herbs develop in the glass over time in a medium-bodied, fragrant Barolo with tons of near-term appeal. Today, the 2010 impresses for its punchy, bright fruit and terrific overall balance." -Antonio Galloni (January 2014)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2010 vintage):
"The full bodied 2010 Barolo Rapet shows an impressive degree of layering and aromatic dimension with sweet cherry and exotic spice followed by dried herb, rosemary and rosebud. There's a significant mineral contribution as well with rusty notes of wet soil and terracotta. The tannins show a spot of firm astringency that is common in the wines of Serralunga d'Alba. Drink: 2017-2028." -Monica Larner (July 2014)
