About the Winery:
Founded in 1893, the Cantina Terlano winery is now one of the leading wine growers’ cooperatives in South Tyrol, with a current membership of 143 growers working a total area of 190 hectares. That is the equivalent of some 1.5 million bottles of wine a year. We and our members have long had a strong focus on quality. That has attracted praise and recognition on the Italian and international wine markets, and in spite of its relatively small size, Cantina Terlano is now well established in the world of wine.
Variety: 100% Pinot Bianco
Vintage: 2022 - The year began with a very dry and mild winter. A cool spring slightly delayed vine budding, but the normal growth cycle was restored by a very warm and sunny May. The first vines flowered on the earliest sites in the middle of the month, and the fine weather then led to a rapid flowering process. On the higher sites, flowering was finished by the beginning of June. Due to an exceptionally hot and dry summer, there were few problems with fungal attack, but the lack of rainfall pushed the vines to their limits in some cases. Rainfall and thunderstorms at the end of July and beginning of August put an end to the lack of water, thus averting drought stress and related quality problems and generating the comforting prospect of an early harvest. Harvesting began on August 24 on the earliest sites. The result was fully ripe and extremely healthy grapes with slightly reduced levels of acidity.

Character:
Color: clear straw yellow with a slightly greenish shimmer.
Smell: The classic Pinot Blanc impresses on the nose with fresh apple notes in combination with aromas of gooseberries and limes. The whole thing is rounded off by herbal components such as camomile and lemongrass.
Taste: Power and tension describe the classic Pinot Blanc, which on the palate is fruity but also minerally and salty thanks to the aroma of pears and quinces. It literally dances on the tongue and impresses with its good persistence.
