About the Producer:
Rare Wine Co., importer of Selosse and many other greats, now produces their own Champagne from the great Chardonnay village of Mesnil.

About this Champagne:
This particular cuvee is made by blending various parcels of Chardonnay grown in Le Mesnil sur Oger. The wines used are specially selected for their finesse and ethereal qualities which give the wines their complex and mouth-watering flavors. This seductive Champagne is a reflection of the house style of Le Mesnil and is perfect throughout a meal, from aperitif to dessert and indeed at any any time of the day or night.

Tasting Notes:
The nose is already beginning to develop the toast and brown butter notes of aged Blanc de Blancs, while the palate offers the quintessential Le Mesnil core of concentrated green apple fruit, apple blossom and wet chalk. The texture is creamy and the palate impression generous, yet it is focused by excellent balancing acidity, with the complex yeast derived nuances usually found only in top vintage Champagne.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:

"A wonderfully creamy, round blanc de blancs that has almond-blossom, white-flower, peach, brioche and pie-crust aromas. The bubbles are silky and soft. Elegant. 100% chardonnay. 85% 2019, with 7.5% 2018 and 7.5% 2016 reserve wines. Disgorged August 2023. 7.2g/L dosage. Drink now." (July 2024)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"This is a good Blanc de Blancs with cooked apples and a touch of honey and beeswax on the nose. The palate displays moderate intensity, very good balance, crisp and focused with what appears some reserve wines towards the finish. A moderately sophisticated bubbly. Tasted March 2008." - Neal Martin (2/29/2008)

90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Lightly chalky, with hints of pastry, poached pear and candied lemon zest running through. Offers a firm bead and a mouthwatering finish. 1,500 cases made." - A.N. (6/15/2012)
