Awards/Reviews:
93 Points, #16, Whisky Advocate Top 20 Of 2022
"Layering a marsala wine-cask finish over Irish single malts matured in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks unleashes a visceral, full-bodied Bushmills into its core range, a dynamic juxtaposition from the easy drinking of the honey-sweet 10 year old. Master blender Alex Thomas serves up a magnificently sturdy dram, primed with dark sweet delights and peppered with mixed peel, sultana, and walnut oil, offering tantalizing twists and turns of intensity through its honey, sweet fig, and black tea flavors."
92 Points - Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2022
"Pours an inviting amber color and shows complex aromas of preserved lemon, toasted grains, dried peach, and honey cream candy. The palate further reveals decadent nutty flavors of smoked almond, cherry liqueur, and soft sandalwood finish."
"This expression of Bushmills really seems to be hitting its stride. Intensely nutty on the nose, the whiskey showcases a rumbling, oxidized wine character driven by the finishing barrel that you don’t often see in Irish, that gentle honey element shoved aside to make room for a more brooding, weighty quality. The palate pops quickly with notes of roasted nuts and cinnamon though there’s a more classic overripe banana note that works really well with the nutty qualities, the finish evoking a light milk chocolate character. Quite well-rounded, with plenty of nuance to explore from start to finish."
