Notes from the Winemaker:
Luca Brunelli is making some of the finest Brunello in Montalcino. Very well reviewed and exceptionally inspired winemaking, his Riserva is one of the best wines of the decade from Italy. This truly exceptional Brunello satisfies even the toughest of critics. It is exceptionally powerful, yet elegant, made in a neo-classic style that is pleasing from the first sip. Typical aromas of dried morello cherry, black tea, rosemary, plum, soy intermingle into a palate layered with delicious, refined cooperage that tastes, well, decadent.

Food Pairing:
Cinghiale (boar) ragu with pappardelle pasta, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, parmigiano torts with sage.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Spectator:
"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a bold and tightly layered wine that delivers an impressive performance. The bouquet is firmly stitched together and seamless although it also shows a powerful rush of red cherry, blackberry, spice, tar, cola and grilled herbs. There is a modern touch of cinnamon and toasted espresso bean that gives the wine an added sense of depth and lasting importance. In the mouth, this Riserva reveals tight structure and tangy acidity. " - Monica Larner (Mar 2016)
