Notes from the Winemaker:
Our home ranch on the west side of High Valley Appellation has been known as "High Serenity Ranch" for over one hundred years, lending the namesake to our expressive proprietary white blend. The estate vineyard blocks producing fruit for the Serenity are on the valley floor situated 1800 feet above sea level and are comprised of gravelly loam soils. The diurnal temperature swings allow for longer hang-time, enhancing flavor development and acid retention in the juice and finished wine.

Winemaking:
At Brassfield Estate our winemaking, under the direction of the esteemed consulting winemaker David Ramey, emphasizes quality and the use of traditional handcrafted techniques to create wines that have both style and finesse. The grapes are harvested in late September at night when the fruit is the coolest. The grapes are then whole-cluster pressed and fermented separately to maximize varietal character.

Tasting Notes:
The 2012 Serenity is a distinctive proprietary blend that displays fruit forward aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, and orange blossom with expressive minerality. The flavors are rich and deep showing dried apricots, honeyed pineapple, and jasmine with a hint of lime zest on the finish. The wine is well-balanced, leaving a long, clean and well-textured finish, like summer in a glass.

Varietal Composition:
46% Pinot Grigio 33% Sauvignon Blanc 21% Gewurztraminer
