Notes from the Winemaker:
This opulent, purple-hued wine is rich with aromas of bramble berries, baking spices and espresso. On the palate it exhibits flavors of plums, blueberry compote, soft vanilla and allspice, with hints of cigar box and black tea. The wine is full and inviting enough to enjoy on its own, yet structured enough to stand up to big, bold foods like prime rib, leg of lamb or BBQ

AGING: Fermented in closed top stainless steel tanks. Aged 19.4 months in 85% French oak (27% new) and 15% American oak (2% new).

BLEND: 53% Merlot, 21% Petite Sirah, 20% Syrah , 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"A fleshy, full-bodied red, with powerful minerality and hints of salinity to the dark currant, plum pudding and black olive flavors. Mocha and baker's chocolate notes flood the richly textured finish. Merlot, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2023. 3,046 cases made." - KM

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2015 Red Blend is made up of 53% Merlot, 21% Petite Sirah, 20% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, aged 20 months in 28% new French oak and 2% new American oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, baked plums, warm blackberries and Black Forest cake springs from the glass with touches of Chinese five spice, dusty soil and garrigue with a touch of black tea. Full, rich and with an approachable chewy texture, it has great freshness and a long earthy finish. 3,046 cases produced." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (28th Feb 2019)

Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This is an opulent, richly layered wine, a combination of Merlot, Petite Sirah and Syrah, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Juicy, it offers smoky cherry and grippy tannin around likable layers of weight and body. Virginie Boone" - (11/1/2019)
