About this wine:
Since 1829, Bollinger has been producing great Champagnes with a powerful, sophisticated and complex style. In 2006, the prestigious French wine magazine La Revue du Vin de France surveyed the most significant group of sommeliers and wine writers to help select the top 50 Champagne Houses. This would be regarded as the flag-bearer for the greatness of Champagne as a unique wine region. Bollinger was selected as the Number #1 House by this group.
With 399 acres of vineyards situated in the best Grands Crus and Premiers Crus villages, Bollinger relies on its own estate for nearly two-thirds of its grape requirements, including the Pinot Noir that gives its Champagne its distinctive roundness and elegance.
About this Wine:
Preceded by Madame Bollinger's La Grande Annee Rose, this non-vintage blend is the next addition to the Bollinger family. Crafted to reveal its own unique personality while steadfastly representing the family, the rich complexity with balanced acidity should come as no surprise to devotees.
The color is pale copper. Aromas of strawberries, raspberries and toasty lees. A full-bodied and round flavor. The Brut Rose is in the traditional Bollinger style with added notes of red berries.
Ratings & Reviews
94 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Pretty hints of orchard blossoms and ripe fruit show on the nose of this statuesque rosé Champagne. Integrates a frame of vivid acidity and a rich underpinning of chalky minerality with a fine, raw silk–like mousse that carries the layered flavors of wild cherry and strawberry, peach skin and Marcona almond. A touch of pleasingly bitter pink grapefruit pith cleans the finish. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Drink now through 2029. 1,000 cases imported." – AN (Nov 2024)
93 Points - James Suckling:
"Deep red-berry nose, plus some nectarine, spice and candied-orange notes. Powerful and fresh, the hint of tannin from the red-wine component of the blend neatly balanced by the creaminess. Excellent textural complexity, then a long, delicately spicy and mineral finish. Disgorged in June 2021. Drink now. (Nov 2021)
92 Points - BurgHound:
"Pretty notes of strawberry and cherry are trimmed in yeast, quinine and citrusy nuances where the latter is picked up by the delicious and vibrant middle weight flavors where the supporting mousse is dense and moderately fine while the finish is clean, dry and complex. For my taste this is drinking perfectly now though it could easily be held if desired." (Jan 2022)
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The latest release of Bollinger's NV Brut Rosé is showing especially well, offering up complex aromas of sweet stone fruit, honeycomb, freshly baked bread and orange oil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, pillowy and vinous palate. Layered and concentrated, with a pretty pinpoint mousse and ripe but racy acids, it concludes with a long, expansive finish." – William Kelley (Aug 2024)
