About the Winery:

The Mariflor vineyard, from which the grapes for all Mariflor wines are grown, spans 247 acres located on Michel Rolland’s 2,100 acre Clos de los Siete estate on the immense plain of Vista Flores in the Valle de Uco at the foot of the fabulous and impressive Cordillera in  Argentina. Michel and his wife Dany, also an acclaimed winemaker, are personally in charge of the Mariflor portion of the estate, which lies  along the western edge at its highest elevation (3300 feet), nearest the Andes.

A majority of the vines, 148 acres, is dedicated to growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Mariflor also grows Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Verdot.

With a winery composed of 54 small thermoregulated concrete vats, unique in the Campo, designed under the supervision of a Bordeaux specialist, and equipped to handle grapes by gravity, completed with a battery of stainless steel tanks.

About the Wine:

VINIFICATION: Gravity feed, pigeage and fermentation in small concrete tanks
AGED:15 months in french oak barrels

Tasting Notes

One of the last born of the Mariflor range. Beautiful, fairly deep colour with purple highlights. Characterised by aromatic finesse, fresh red fruit aromas and floral nuances. The same can be said for the palate: the perfect combination of finesse and elegance, balance, harmony and mouthfilling texture, with a wonderful freshness. Cabernet Franc has a great future in Argentina. While already delicious now, it is worth ageing another five to ten years, if not longer.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:
"This has a fragrant nose of orange peel, nutmeg, cherries and dried herbs. Toasted nuts, too. It’s full-bodied and structured with a firm yet very fine tannin frame. Long and polished. Drink or hold."  (Mar 2025)
Wine Enthusiast:
" This is a friendly Cabernet Franc that has an austere nose and juicy palate. Toasted oak, cranberries and raspberries lead to a fruity finish." - Jesica Vargas (Jul 2024)
